Bitcoin News – ChildFund One of the World’s Largest Childen’s Aid Groups, Now Accepts Bitcoin

Not every child can have the life they truly deserve; one with happiness and the basic needs to not just survive, but thrive.

In today’s world, more than 400 million children can barely grasp on to the survive portion of living as they sit in extreme poverty. That’s the portion where ChildFund International wants to make a difference.

“Since our beginnings, our approach has evolved into one of community development, focused on strengthening families and community structures that make up a child’s environment. The individual sponsor-to-child relationship supports this work, with sponsor funds pooled to improve life in the communities where sponsored children live.”

For 75 years, ChildFund has been able to provide support to children in need through their program. They give children the opportunity for education, health care, job training and personal development from infancy to the age of 24 years old.

And now, anybody, all over the world, can help ChildFund continue to improve the quality of life for those in extreme poverty by donating with bitcoins.

BitPay Opening Up ChildFund International to Bitcoin Donations

Upon the announcement of the partnership, BitPay posted a message on their blog about 2014 being the year of nonprofits. They said:

“We have a commitment to helping nonprofits utilize bitcoin for good causes. Our free payment processing and donation tools are empowering groups as diverse as ChildFund, Save the Children, American Red Cross, Greenpeace USA and Literacy Bridge to use bitcoin donations and create unique solutions to problems ranging from illiteracy to disease.”

While ChildFund joining the ranks of other nonprofits accepting bitcoins is an enormous victory for the currency, it’s also an enormous victory for the people in need. Bitcoin isn’t the focus; it’s a tool to help the people all over the world that need it the most; especially the children.
